  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 10 cups water (for bath)
  • ⅔ cup baking soda
  • 12 oz white chocolate chips or candy melts
  • Food coloring (gel/oil-based): orange, purple, green, black
  • Various Halloween sprinkles

  1. In a stand mixer, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in salt and half of the flour, followed by melted butter. Gradually add the remaining flour while kneading until smooth.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl and let rise until doubled in size (1–1.5 hours).
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Shape risen dough into pretzel forms.
  5. Boil water with baking soda; immerse shaped pretzels for 20–30 seconds before placing them on lined sheets.
  6. Brush with an egg wash and bake for 12–18 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Melt white chocolate and color with food dye; dip cooled pretzels and decorate as desired.
