  • Orange food coloring (optional)
  • Toppings (chopped nuts, sprinkles, etc., optional)

  1. Clean and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert wooden sticks into the stem end of each apple.
  2. Combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Attach a candy thermometer and heat until it reaches 300-305°F without stirring.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and optional orange food coloring.
  4. Dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, allowing excess to drip off before adding any toppings.
  5. Place dipped apples on parchment paper to cool completely for about 30-60 minutes.
