  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Add pumpkin puree and mix gently.
  5. Slowly incorporate dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in chopped pecans.
  7. Chill dough for at least 2 hours.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C), roll out chilled dough to 1/4-inch thick and cut out shapes.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
