  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

  1. Place chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
  2. Mix garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Rub spice mixture all over the chicken breasts.
  4. (Optional) Marinate the seasoned chicken in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear chicken for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Check internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C); remove from skillet and keep warm.
  7. In the same skillet, melt one tablespoon of butter and add minced garlic; cook until fragrant.
  8. Pour in chicken broth and lemon juice; bring to simmer while scraping the pan's browned bits.
  9. Let sauce simmer for about 5-7 minutes until thickened; stir in remaining butter before serving.
  10. Serve chicken with sauce poured generously on top and garnish with fresh parsley.
