  • 2.5 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

  1. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Stir in butter, then add onions and cook until translucent. Add garlic and sauté briefly.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the mixture; stir for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Gradually whisk in beef broth and milk until smooth; bring to a simmer.
  5. Season with Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper; simmer for about 15-20 minutes until thickened.
  6. Meanwhile, boil potatoes in salted water until tender (15–20 minutes). Drain and mash with warmed milk and butter; season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve mashed potatoes topped with hamburger gravy, garnished with parsley.
