  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 15 oz can water chestnuts
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • Butter lettuce leaves

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat and sauté chopped onion until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Stir in chopped water chestnuts, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes, and black pepper; mix well.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Separate and wash lettuce leaves.
  7. Spoon filling into each leaf and add optional toppings if desired.
  8. Fold the leaves around the filling and serve immediately.
