  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 head butter lettuce

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and sauté the chopped onion until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in chopped water chestnuts, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes, and black pepper; mix well.
  5. Let mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in chopped green onions.
  7. Prepare lettuce leaves by washing them thoroughly.
  8. Spoon the beef filling into each lettuce leaf and fold like a taco.
  9. Serve immediately with optional toppings like shredded carrots or cilantro.
