  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 pound pasta (penne, rigatoni, or your favorite shape)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Add chicken sausage and cook until browned. Remove from pan while keeping drippings.
  2. Sauté Onions and Garlic: In the same skillet, add onion and cook until softened. Stir in minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Build Your Sauce: Pour in crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce; add oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for at least 30 minutes before adding back the sausage.
  4. Cook Your Pasta: Meanwhile, boil salted water and cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve pasta water before draining.
  5. Create Garlic Butter Bliss: Melt butter in a separate skillet; add minced garlic for flavor.
