  • 4 packages ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Optional: cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu; red pepper flakes; green onions; sesame seeds

  1. In a large skillet, melt 6 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in sesame oil and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Cook ramen noodles according to package directions, then drain.
  5. Add drained noodles to the skillet and toss until well coated with the sauce.
  6. Mix in remaining butter until melted and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Optional: fry eggs separately to top each bowl if desired.
  8. Serve warm garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
