  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 large yellow onion, finely diced
  • 810 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup unsalted beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  1. Cook bowtie pasta in salted water until al dente; reserve some pasta water before draining.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with salt and pepper; drain excess fat.
  3. Lower the heat and add butter, then sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and cook for one more minute.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and Italian seasoning; cook briefly to enhance flavors.
  5. Pour in beef broth, scrape the skillet bottom, then simmer for five minutes.
  6. Reduce heat further; whisk in heavy cream and cream cheese until smooth.
  7. Gradually add shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  8. Mix in cooked beef and drained pasta, adjusting consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs and extra cheese.
