  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/23/4 cup Halloween sprinkles
  • Candy eyes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream melted butter with sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and sprinkles (and food coloring if desired).
  7. Chill dough for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Scoop dough onto prepared sheets, spacing them apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are soft.
  10. Cool on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
