  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract.
  5. Mash the ripe bananas in another bowl until smooth.
  6. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture alternately with mashed bananas.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if desired).
  8. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan; add extra chocolate chips on top if you like.
  9. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean from the center.
  10. Let cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
