  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Mash ripe bananas in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture alternating with mashed bananas until just combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using, then pour into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Optionally sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  9. Bake for about 50–60 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
