In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and drain excess grease.
Add chopped onions and sauté until softened.
Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and taco seasoning; simmer for a few minutes.
In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup with milk and stir in sour cream until smooth.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Layer half of the crushed Doritos in a greased baking dish, followed by half the meat mixture, half the creamy sauce, and one cup of cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until hot and bubbly. Let cool before serving.
