  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • Garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper
  • Baking soda

  1. Activate yeast by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let it sit until foamy.
  2. Mix in salt and melted butter, then gradually add flour until shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 60–90 minutes until doubled.
  5. Prepare cheese filling by mixing cheeses and seasonings in a bowl.
  6. Punch down dough, divide into pieces, roll out, fill with cheese mixture, seal edges.
  7. Shape into pretzels and let rest briefly while boiling water with baking soda.
  8. Dip pretzels in the baking soda bath for about 20–30 seconds per side.
  9. Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with salt, then bake at 450°F for about 12–15 minutes.
