  • Cream cheese frosting (cream cheese, unsalted butter, powdered sugar)

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  3. Cream softened butter with sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla.
  4. Gradually blend in dry ingredients with cooled chai tea and buttermilk.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
  6. While baking, prepare the chai syrup by simmering water with sugar and spices until thickened.
  7. Poke holes in the cooled cake and soak it with the chai syrup.
  8. Make the frosting by beating cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar.
  9. Frost the cooled cake evenly and serve.
