  1. Activate yeast by combining warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let it foam for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Mix in egg, salt, and melted butter.
  3. Gradually add flour until shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in an oiled bowl for 1-1.5 hours.
  6. Prepare filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
  7. Roll out dough to a rectangle; spread filling evenly over it.
  8. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 slices.
  9. Place slices in greased baking pan; let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  11. Cool slightly before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk and red food coloring.
