  1. Prepare the taco shells: Heat oil in a pan and fry each tortilla until golden brown, shaping them into tacos as you fry.
  2. Make the crumb coating: Mix crushed vanilla wafer crumbs with cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  3. Warm the apple filling: Heat canned apple pie filling until warm; mix in heavy cream if desired.
  4. Assemble tacos: Fill taco shells with warm apple filling, brush edges with melted butter, and coat in cinnamon crumb mixture.
  5. Serve immediately while crispy, optionally topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce.
