  • 1 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 290 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups diced apples (approx. 2 medium)
  • For the Frosting: 6 oz cream cheese, softened; 1/2 stick unsalted butter; 3/4 cup powdered sugar; 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • Preparation Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sea salt, and spices.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in diced apples.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for about 25-30 minutes until edges are golden.
  6. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before frosting with the cream cheese mixture made by beating all frosting ingredients together.
