  • 4 slices of bread (sourdough or brioche recommended)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, provolone, or pepper jack)
  • Optional toppings (everything bagel seasoning, red pepper flakes, chopped chives)

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until combined.
  2. Brush both sides of each bread slice with melted butter.
  3. Dip each slice into the egg mixture for about 15-20 seconds per side.
  4. Place two soaked slices in the air fryer basket; top with cheese and add another slice to create sandwiches.
  5. Cook at 350°F (175°C) for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning.
  6. Once golden and crispy, remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before slicing.
